This course has been an exercise in "swimming with the big fish" for me. An undergraduate senior majoring in creative writing may seem an unlikely candidate for an edpsych 696B class, but, as they say, "no one put a gun to my head and made me take this class!" This streak of academic masochism is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I am assembling a thematic minor out of various (mostly grad level) classes somehow linked around the notion that modern technology will play a fairly HUMONGOUS role in the inspiration and education of the next generation of Homo Sapiens.

Currently holding an Associates degree in Media Communications from Pima Community College, and with over a decade of professional media production experience behind me, I have, during the past four years, been concentrating less on the tools and toys, and more on the process of creative communication. My writing practice has lead to a handful of published pieces of poetry and fiction as well as to a position as a tutor of English (and other topics) here at the University of Arizona. I don't know which of the former occupations demands more creativity, resourcefulness and devotion. Wading ankle deep into the educational ocean has whet my appetite (not to mention my tennies) for a way to understand and have some small effect on the present age of information.

Spare time? Surely you jest! In the time that I am not living the life of the student, I enjoy being the sole proprietor of a small graphic design effort geared mainly toward creating World Wide Web graphics. I am a middle child, an Aries, a red-head, love lima beans and mint chocolate chip ice-cream (though not necessarily together) and am nearing my fourth year of wedded bliss.
