Introduction


From the brainstorming sessions, the class identified three major areas to study. The three areas were: rationale for using technology, curriculum reform and the impact of technology on reform, and the staff development activities necessary to support technology. Not surprisingly (and to the joy of the instructor) as we studied and discussed the materials we began to find commonalties among the topics. More importantly, after studying a little bit about systems, we began to see relationships between these three topics.

Unfortunately, we ran out of time before we could explore these interrelationships further. I have plans to use this document in future classes to provide background information. Hopefully this document will give you background information for you to explore these issues yourself. If you do, we'd like to hear from you.
