A thorough and well-researched document, this paper reviews the current state of education and educational research, discusses the ways in which technology can affect the ways teachers teach and students learn, and examines issues that will drive the success of the effort to restructure schools and integrate technology into the curriculum. The authors provide a framework for thinking about the broad range of issues that will need to be considered in applying technology to support educational goals. One guideline is that the needs of the curriculum must guide investment in technology.
