Written primarily as a textbook for a university course, most of the chapters detail the what and how of specific technologies. The author further has been a consultant to several schools which were built with technology integrated into all aspects, both physically and pedagogically, and, naturally, advocates this is as the direction that should be taken in integrating technology into eduction. Nevertheless, given the author's unique expertise, the introductory chapter is valuable from the perspective of seeing how a total commitment to using technology changes all aspects of schooling. In the words of the author, "There are no right and wrong approaches to using advanced technologies--only alternative futures" (pg. 12).
