Quizzes
Description:There will be a quiz almost every week of class, usually at the beginning of class. The quizzes will take a variety of forms, and sometimes you will work with your group on the answers. Note that you may not make up a quiz that you have missed; if you know you will be gone from class, you may make arrangements ahead of time to take the quiz in advance. I will drop your lowest quiz score at the end of the semester to allow for emergencies.
Purpose: Writing the quiz will help you focus on the main ideas of a reading or set of readings.
Method: To study for the quizzes, read assigned material, looking for the main ideas, thesis, and significant examples in the article. If you find that you are having trouble identifying main ideas, make an appointment with the TA or visit the Women's Studies Writing Center.
Evaluation: To receive full credit
on any quiz, you must answer all questions correctly and completely. There
will be no partial credit given for answers. At the end of the semester,
I will drop your lowest quiz score when I calculate grades.
