Women and the Mexican Revolution

Throughout time, women around the world have had a role in history.  However, they are not as recognized and their stories are not recorded as much as men.  The purpose of our website is to inform people on different women's roles in the Mexican Revolution.  For a complete understanding we flet that you should first know the basics of the Mexican Revolution as written by Lynn Davies.  Then we will go into the roles of Mexican women in the Revolution by Tereza Jandura and the roles of American women focusing on Anita Brenner by Kerstin Jones.  Next we will talk about Sophie Treadwell and her interview with Pancho Villa by Carter Cox.  Finally we will look at Treadwell's play Gringo as analyzed by Kim Grier.  The play was written in 1922 shortly after her interview with Villa and it is said that the main character is modeled after Villa.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and are able to learn something new.
