We went digging for resources for our assigned project teams that would enable them to develop great web sites full of useful information and "gems" of wisdom!  Under the guidance of Ruth Dickstein, the Women's Studies Librarian, we searched the world wide web and the University of Arizona's Library collections for books and articles.  We developed the skills necessary to "dig" for our sources using multi-search engines and
the Arizona Index.  We located nuggets of truth and mined the library resources of
America's best educational institutions.
Our explorations brought to the surface many fascinating stories about the women who helped shape the Arizona Territory into the Copper State of today:  the one with the female Governor... and Secretary of State...and State Treasurer...and Attorney General...
We hope you enjoy our Arizona stories about the ladies who endured hardship and the challenge of life on the border, from our pioneer women to today's community leaders.
