Subject: POLIS Archive Announcement: Third & Final Notice
Dear POLIS User:
***You may disregard this notice if you've already responded or if this
does not affect you.***
POLIS is implementing a data storage policy that may affect one or more of
your POLIS courses. Course materials older than 12 months will be
compressed and stored offline at the end of each semester. You are
receiving this email because our records indicate that you are the owner
of POLIS course materials created between Fall 1997 and Fall 2002. The
first date for storing material offline is set for this Friday, June 4,
2004.
IMPORTANT: Active course materials or courses that are being held during
the current term should not maintain links to old POLIS data. Some
instructors link to data in old semesters within their homesites. This
will no longer be possible as old data will be offline. All active course
homesites and their corresponding resources need to be in the current
semester POLIS course list. POLIS courses can be moved from previous terms
very easily, please do not hesitate to request this service
(polis@email.arizona.edu), please do so prior to this Friday, June 4,
2004.
Offline materials will still be available to instructors of record or
other faculty members as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (http://www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco/ferpa/index.html). Offline
materials may be requested by sending an email to
POLIS: polis@email.arizona.edu. Offline courses may be moved into the
current semester, delivered to the instructor via email, or burned to a CD
for later use at any time after this Friday, June 4, 2004.
Please email if you have any questions or need assistance moving courses.
