Q: Why cant I get the e-reserve and other outside readings listed on the Web page to appear on my computer screen when I click on their links?
A: You need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader on your system. This software allows you to display pages in your Web browser and print them exactly as they appear in the original document. You can download it for free onto your computer at:

If you do not want to download this software onto your personal computer, all of the computers in the library are equipped with Acrobat. So you can print online reserve articles or other outside readings from the library for 10 cents/page.
Q: Ok, I clicked on the link above and went to the "Get Acrobat Reader" web site, but how do I actually download and install the software on my computer?
A: Once you are at the Adobe web site (you can get there by clicking on the yellow button above), scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Get Acrobat Reader Free" icon. Choose the platform you use and fill in the information they ask for. Click the download button at the bottom of the page. Depending on the browser you are using, the file may begin downloading automatically or you may have to click another link to get it started. Choose a directory where you want the file (rs405eng.exe) to be save or use the default directory. NOTE: Be sure to note the location where the file is being saved so you can locate it on your hard drive later. Once download is complete (this may take up to an hour or longer), go to the location on your hard drive where the file was saved and double click on it. Follow the insallation instructions on the screen. Once installation is complete, restart your computer. The next time you click on one of the links to an article, Acrobat should load in your browser automatically.
Q: Why cant I get the e-reserve and other outside readings listed on the Web page to print once I have them displayed on the screen?
A: While the librarys new e-reserves system offers the convenience of allowing students to access articles without physically going to the library, the downside of e-reserves is that your computer needs to be pretty fast and have a lot of memory in order to print on-line articles in a reasonable amount of time (or even at all). For this reason, you may have to go either to the library or to a campus computer lab in order to print the on-line articles.
NOTE: Free on-campus computer labs, such as the SBS Instructional Lab, cannot support the cost associated with large numbers of students printing on-line articles. You will need to go to the library or a CCIT lab and pay to print the articles if your personal computer cannot do the job.
Q: Why do all of the graphics on the Web pages look jumbled or broken?
A: You are probably using an older version of a browser that does not support some of the graphic features on this site. This site is designed for Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer, version 4.0 or higher.
If you dont know which version you have, click "Help" in your browser menu and choose the "About (browser name)" command. You can download the latest version of these browsers at by clicking on the following icons:
