I.    Be able to name the TA, preceptor (sx. #2, #35) and the section number.

II.     Study the structure of the chloroplast in relation to the cell

Know the relationship between the cell, chloroplast, thykaloids and chlorophyll, Where do the light reactions occur? The dark reactions?

III.     In this lab, what was accomplished?  How is DCPIP used?  During which reaction did we capture electrons?  What happened to the electrons?  Why IS DCPIP useful to demonstrate the effects of light on the reaction tubes?

IV.     What was the purpose of the first spin?  The second spin? What was ther overall purpose of sucrose?  Of acetone?  Why did we want a final concentration of 0.5mg/ml of chlorophyll?

V.     Study the photosynthetic pathway:
 

Where does the light reaction occur?  The dark reaction? What enters and exits the light reaction? The dark reaction? Is this cyclic or noncyclic photophosphorylation?  What is the difference? What are the three steps of the Calvin Benson cycle not depicted in this figure?
