Research & Reporting
Efforts this quarter have
focused on the articulating the data algorithms of MOATS in various patterns
along with part of the research to show proof-of-concept as well as describe
the project. Additionally, further research has continued on game design from
the instructional and learning perspective for how it enters the MOATS data as
well as participates and adds to the Horizon Project and VCOP. The algorithms
have been posted to the works-in-progress site.
Highlights include:
- Pulling
together the raw data from the NetGen interviews and the research data
towards the E-book chapter
- Assisting
and supporting the Horizon VCOP initial events
- Contacted
and sent Content Producer Files to NLII Administrator for web posting
- Sustained
sponsored project connections and assistance with Bridging VCOP
institutions
- Followed
up the Summer Focus Session on Bridging Research & Practice with
developing the Sponsored Projects goals connections, assisting
connections between goals and assessment documentation.
- Began
work of Learner-Centered Principles documentation sources for website
development
- Began
career research, development, exploration

meetings with NLII VCOP Facilitators team
- Bridging
Community: coordinated with Danilo Baylen the Third Wednesdays Panel
Presentations – roaring successes – over two dozen attendees on phone and
another two dozen in VCOP virtual environment for participation.
- Maintained
Bridging VCOP Weblog with news of events to keep VCOP available to
outside NLII members as well as members who are already VCOP
participants, as decided by earlier staff discussion

- The
five sponsored projects identified from the Spring Focus Session continue
to meet weekly and give monthly reports. At present, I am working with
them to evaluate their assessment forms and develop them further to yield
more helpful information to both the participants and the institutions,
as well as the NLII.

with Susan Metros and Kathy Christoph for exploring large university
consortia about LMS’s.

NLII staff events – Horizon VCOP’s meeting
- Facilitated
meeting of sponsored projects and strategies that worked in assessing
faculty projects, motivating faculty projects, and identifying needs of
instructional technologists, including naming the backgrounds and roles
of instructional technologists at the various institutions.
