Relevant Experience (selected)

 

Program Development & Coordination (12 years)
·        Initiated the University of Arizona Course Management System program including the marketing, support site creation, administrative manuals conception, training workshop development, troubleshooting and reporting procedures, budgets, impact papers, and national trends. Administrated additional instructional technologies.
·        Oversaw middleware software development -  including database design, development and integration, staff, budget, and deadlines. Combined this project with two additional projects and their subsequent teams for cohesive plan integrating instructional tools into existing university structure.

·        Envisioned, planned, collaborated, developed, & recruited an international community of higher education professionals – Bridging Community of Practice - with the domain of bridging research and practice for the purpose of the transforming higher education teaching and learning with technology. Membership currently at 203.

                       

Curriculum Development & Faculty Mentorship (10 years)

·        Supervised the development of computer-based training (CBT) modules for F-16 fighter pilots. Responsible for oversight of Subject Matter Expert (SME) material, instructional-designer, graphic-artist, media-artist, and hardware to fit with the base goals and national security needs.

·        Liaison and evaluator of two research university projects – University of Memphis Technology Fellowship Program at the Advanced Learning Center – and – University of Southern California’s Center for Distance Learning project on Collaborative Learning. The year-long projects have entailed weekly synchronous, asynchronous, and teleconference meetings as well as monthly reports, and assessments of participating faculty members activities, with consultant guides.

·        Designed, created, assessed, and conducted courses in multiple venues for first and second year writing as well as intercultural humanties. Included into all  curriculum technology use to accommodate student experience at all levels.

·        I have been a guest instructor, in person and via distance, for graduate courses in Educational Psychology, Technology in Teaching, Learning Objects, and Learning Environments, among others.

 

Administration & Strategic Planning. (12 years)

·        Facilitated the strategic vision, tactical planning, and in a consultative process, developed a team to recruit speakers, consult with the host institutions, and summarize the final reports of two major conferences for higher education

·        Served on the program committee for an additional inaugural regional conference, as the Corporate Chair. Read, reviewed, revised and advised on the applicability of the corporations’ proposals to the regional audience on who was expected to attend. Recruited and guided conveners for the sessions.

·        Served on the committee conducting a needs analysis and made recommendations in the Technology Analysis Report for staff, hardware, software, and procedures to the University of Arizona College of Education’s new dean.

·        Planned annual budget for three chapels of the largest population of Americans residing outside of continental United States,. Supervised 12 civilian staff and 300 volunteers. Responsible for the recruitment, training, & scheduling; researching, coordinating, collaborating, planning and mentoring on program development. In addition, I created monthly & annual reports, as well as sent archives to the military offices.
