Dr. Brainerd received his BS, MA, and PhD degrees in developmental and experimental psychology from Michigan State University. He is a Fellow of the Division of General Psychology, the Division of Developmental Psychology, and the Division of Educational Psychology of the American Psychological Association. He is a Founding Fellow of the American Psychological Society, is a Diplomate of both the American College of Forensic Examiners and the American College of Forensic Medicine, and has received the Governor of Arizona’s Spirit of Excellence Award. Dr. Brainerd has published over 150 research articles and books in areas such as human learning and decision making, statistics and mathematical modeling, assessment, curriculum design, intelligence, and cognitive development. He has served terms as Editor of Advances in Cognitive Development Research, as Associate Editor of The Behavioral and Brain Sciences, and as Associate Editor of Child Development. His current research focuses on the assessment of learning outcomes in technology-infused classrooms and work environments. Dr. Brainerd has received over 20 years of research support from sources such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the Spencer Foundation.
