TEXT MATERIALS:
Two books: The Archaeology of Ancient Arizona and Grasshopper Pueblo, A Story of Archaeology and Ancient Life by Jefferson Reid and Stephanie Whittlesey. Exams will be based on lectures and required reading.

REGULAR EXAMS:
There are three scheduled exams composed of objective and short answer questions. Each exam covers 1/3 of the course. Non-native speakers of English may make special arrangements.

MAKE-UP EXAM ON DEC. 16, 8 A.M. – 10 A.M. in Anthropology Room 216.
One comprehensive, all essay make-up exam will be given at the end of the semester.

GRADING:

First Exam 100 points
Second Exam 100 points
Third Exam 100 points
Project 100 points
Total: 400 points

The standard grading scale is employed:

A = 90 - 100% (360-400 points total)
B = 80 - 89%    (320-360 points total)
C = 70 - 79%   (280-320 points total)
D = 60 - 69%   (240-280 points total)

INCOMPLETES:
No incompletes will be given. In case of incomplete fulfillment of course requirements, a letter grade (A, B, C, D, E) will be assigned on the basis of the total accumulated points.
