About Us:

The scope of OISF's responsibilities include development, growth, oversight and teaching in the IDS/International Studies B.A. degree program. In that capacity the Director of OISF also reports to the Dean of University College, where all IDS (Interdisciplinary Studies) programs are housed. Now two and a half years old, the IDS/IS Track Advisors (faculty drawn from a great range of disciplines) is critical to the success of the International Studies program. The professional hallmarks of the IDS/IS students are language/area competence, functional specialization, and a firm grounding in modern computing and information technologies, most notably the internet.

OISF also administers the larger international fellowship programs for both graduate students and undergraduates. OISF is proud to have led the University to a strong national reputation in arenas such as the Fulbright Student Program competition.

Lastly, OISF seeks to develop initiatives that assist in global internet connectivity to economically disadvantaged areas of the world, and to link those initiatives to the IDS/IS degree program.
