Dear Ms. Smith:

I have recently received your request for those interested in the ArtWORKS! Summer Program to contact you. I am extremely excited about the ArtWORKS! Summer Program, and would love to work as an Artist Supervisor. Having been involved in the arts since childhood, I understand how crucial it is for young aspiring artists to have proper role models. I believe I could be one of those role models. I have an extensive background in the arts. I am currently enrolled at the University of Arizona as a Media Arts major, with a minor in Studio Art Figure Drawing. My curriculum integrates tangible artwork, such as my drawing, with purely visual media through the use of digital cameras and computers. I have experience with drawing, painting, graphic design, as well as art history. Also, I have worked a great deal with many different computer programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, as well as animation and web design programs. Last semester, I began volunteering with the Project S.H.I.N.E program, which is associated with the University of Arizona. Through this program I volunteer at Cragin Elementary School, working on a weekly basis with individual children who need extra help or in a classroom setting assisting the teacher.

Last semester, I worked with third graders who needed help out of class with reading and vocabulary skills. This semester, I am working with a classroom of first graders. I have helped the children with in-class assignments, projects, games, and have also read with individual students to help them improve their reading skills.

I feel that my extensive art background and my experience working with youth combine to make me an excellent candidate for the open positions this summer in the ArtWORKS! Program. If you are interested in further discussing my qualifications, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you. Please feel free to contact me by phone at 520-555-4209 or email me at ###@hotmail.com. Thank you very much for your time.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Singer
