Instructor

Dear Ms. Brown:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for accepting my application for the internship with the Center for Professional Communications. I am very excited to be part of this organization and its growing demand. I am looking forward to advancing my computer skills and developing my cyber-world knowledge. With the tremendous emphasis on technology, it has become essential for those in the work place to be familiar and efficient with all the different sorts of technology and their implications. I am extremely excited and interested in learning how to critically analyze the implications of technology as well as learn about the different technologies that are used everyday. I also hope to strengthen my skills and understanding of analysis and how it will affect others.
After reviewing my contract with your organization and the welcome letter, it is my understanding and acknowledgement that I will begin work Wednesday, January 17, 2001 and will attend sessions on-line Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:45 p.m. I understand that the internship is worth three academic credits towards me degree. I am also aware of my responsibilities and the schedule in which to follow. My commitment to my responsibilities and tasks will be taken seriously and always in a timely manner. I am extremely disciplined and focused when it comes to projects and assignments. I will do my best to help contribute to the organization reliable and accurate information.
As an intern with your organization I strongly believe that I will be able to put my strengths and talents to use for the benefit of The Center. As with any position discipline is an important characteristics, luckily through years of competitive swimming not only do I have self-discipline, I also posses a very strong work ethic. I feel these two qualities will be needed to be a successful intern at The Center due to not meeting in a usual classroom and setting. Professionalism and organization are also required for this position, which I feel that I posses and can contribute to The Center. I also take pride in not only working well by myself, but with others. I find that working in a group setting, such as those that will be required for our weekly meetings and possibly for our larger projects, is rewarding and necessary to be successful in today s work place. Along with the above characteristics, creativity is also important. I plan to use my creativity to find innovative ways to critically analyze technology and to plan for the larger projects.
I am looking forward to the collaborations, meetings, and project to come in the near future. I am excited about this internship and the possibilities to follow after completed. At this time I have no questions or concerns about the experience, I am just looking forward to getting started and getting to know the other interns and you. Again, thank you for your time and this wonderful opportunity. If you wish to contact me you can reach me at (520) 555-9655 or by email at student@u.arizona.edu.
Sincerely,
Jenna Smith Intern
